Abstract

The structural, magnetic and magnetocaloric properties of the Ni50Mn34Sn8In8 alloy have been presented. It was observed to form in single phase L21 type cubic structure. The two step martensitic transformations were observed and both martensite and austenite phases were observed to be ferromagnetic in nature. Magnetocaloric effect was evaluated both around the structural and magnetic transitions. Double peak behavior was observed in the magnetic entropy change which has widened the working temperature range.
