Abstract
⺠Optical energy gap (Eg) of PVA reduces after embedding Ag nanoparticles. ⺠On exposure to γ-radiations at various doses, the value of Eg was reduces further. ⺠The refractive index (n) of PVA increases after embedding Ag nanoparticles. ⺠With gamma exposure the refractive index 'n' of PVA/Ag nanocomposites increases. ⺠Increase in 'n' suggests the possibility of their use in optical device applications.
