Abstract
► Nanorod Eu-doped HA was obtained by using HTMW process without a secondary phase. ► Eu3+ emission can be effective to monitoring the evolution of structural defects. ► A blue-shift and a narrowing of broad band PL suggest a crystalline organization. ► Eu3+ substitution in the HA lattice obtained by the HTMW method is site-selective.
