Abstract
▸ The maximum value of magnetic entropy change of TbMn1.8Fe0.2 reaches 9.48 J kg−1 K−1 for a field change ΔH = 5 T. ▸ The maximum adiabatic temperature change is 3.5 K for ΔH = 5 T, with a wide effective temperature range. ▸ The obtained relative cooling power reaches 235, 607, and 869 J kg−1 for ΔH = 2, 5 and 7 T, respectively. ▸ These values are all quite large compared with other potential magnetic refrigerants.
