Abstract
The crystal structures of the UT2Zn20 (T = Fe, Co, Ru, Rh, and Ir) intermetallics have been refined from the single-crystal X-ray diffraction data. The compounds crystallize with a face-centered cubic structure of the Mg3Cr2Al18 type.
► High quality single crystals of the UT2Zn20 (T = Fe, Co, Ru, Rh, and Ir) intermetallics were synthesized. ► Their crystal structures were refined from the single-crystal X-ray diffraction data. ► Strategies of preparing novel derivatives of the UT2Zn20 phases were outlined.
