Abstract
► In this study we report a study on the microstructure and electrochemical hydrogen storage characteristics of La-Mg-Ni system alloys. ► We select Ca to substitute Mg in La0.7Mg0.3Ni2.8Co0.5 alloy, and we find a small amount of Ca can improve cycle life due to its more negative electronegativity. ► We find that Ca can improve electrochemical kinetics of the alloy electrodes.
