Abstract
⺠The appropriate BaO-B2O3 compositions have the potential to transform into glassy form at a relative low sintering temperature (800-900 °C). ⺠Especially, the introduction of α-alumina to the barium borate glassy matrix can offer more possibilities to set a proper sintering behavior. ⺠Fused silica combines a very low thermal expansion coefficient, whereas monoclinic zirconia is a stable form of zirconia and has good mechanical properties. ⺠The introduction of two ceramic particles to the composite matrix composed of the barium borate glassy matrix and α-alumina is to develop the LTCC composite ceramics with low thermal expansion coefficient and considerable bending strength, respectively.
