Abstract
⺠In this study, Fe3Al has been chosen as cladding powder due to its excellent properties of wear resistance and high strength, etc. ⺠Laser cladding of Fe3Al + TiB2/Al2O3 pre-placed alloy powder on Ti-6Al-4V alloy substrate can form the Ti3Al/Fe3Al + TiB2/Al2O3 ceramic layer, which can increase wear resistance of substrate. ⺠In cladding process, Al2O3 can react with TiB2 leading to formation of Ti3Al and B. ⺠This principle can be used to improve the Fe3Al + TiB2 laser-cladded coating.
