Abstract
The thermomechanical properties of polycrystalline samples of CaTiO3, CaZrO3, and CaHfO3 were studied. The thermal expansions were measured using a dilatometer in the temperature range from room temperature to 1273 K, and the thermal expansion coefficients were calculated from the slope of the thermal expansion curves. The longitudinal and shear sound velocities as well as the micro-hardness were measured at room temperature. The elastic moduli and the Debye temperature were evaluated from the measured sound velocities. The relationships between these properties of the calcium series perovskite-type oxides were studied.
