Abstract
The linear thermal expansion and bulk thermal expansion of Ti doped chromium oxide was determined for the first time. It was found that the linear thermal expansion value of Cr2O3 is affected by incorporation of Ti right from the dopant concentration 5Â mole%. The defects confined only to c direction initially at 5Â mole% of Ti in Cr2O3 where as it manifested in a direction also at higher concentrations. The bulk thermal expansion values studied by dilatometry showed abescence of any such anomaly in the compounds as the bulk expansion is represented by the polycrystalline nature of these compounds.
