Abstract
ⶠWhen the as-quenched Mg-1Zr alloy was aged at temperatures ranging from 200 °C to 500 °C, a microstructural transformation sequence was found to be α-Mg â (α-Mg + twindense) â (α-Mg + twinloose) â (α-Mg + α-Zr). ⶠAs the as-quenched Mg-1Zr alloy was subjected to aging treatment at 300 °C for 16 h, it exhibited the maximum damping properties. ⶠThe twin structure plays a crucial role in increasing the damping capacity of the Mg-1Zr alloy.
