Abstract
ⶠSi-free metallic thin ribbons show vulnerable surfaces that are easily influenced by the annealing ambience. ⶠThe in-plane stress created between surfaces and ribbon interior results in hard-ribbon-axis (HRA) anisotropy. ⶠPartial surface removal reduces this anisotropy since it reduces the stress. ⶠIf moderate, the induced HRA anisotropy could be exploited in certain applications.
