Abstract
ⶠTransparent ZnO/MgO multilayers have been grown on quartz substrate using pulsed laser deposition technique. ⶠThe effect of varying ZnO sublayer thickness on structural, electrical and optical properties of ZnO/MgO multilayers has been investigated systematically. ⶠThe optical band gap tuning in ZnO/MgO multilayers was investigated by evaluating them in both transparent as well as in absorption regions of the transmission spectra. ⶠThe growth of ZnO-MgO nanorods with length to diameter average ratio of 15 has been reported which shows enhanced optical properties and prospect the ZnO/MgO multilayers for their potential uses as a transparent window coating in solar cells, in optoelectronic devices as well as in solar blind photodetectors.
