Abstract
► ZrFe2−xNix (x = 0.2, 0.4, 0.6, and 0.8) can accumulate up to 1.7-1.8 wt.% H2 at 295 K. ► H2 desorption pressures at 295 K decreased from 325 (x = 0) to 115 atm (x = 0.8). ► Isomer shifts (IS) remain constant with Ni content. ► Absorption of H2 results in increase in IS and hyperfine fields for all samples. ► Hydride decomposition process involves formation of intermediate hydride phase.
