Abstract
Structure refinements of the C36-TiCr2 Laves phase have been performed on the basis of X-ray diffraction data collected from single crystals containing 33.7 at.% Ti (i.e. near-stoichiometric) and 35.6 at.% Ti (Ti-rich off-stoichiometric). The results indicate that the solid solubility of Ti-rich C36-TiCr2 is predominantly realised by anti-site atoms, i.e. by Ti atoms occupying Cr sites. Constitutional Cr vacancies play at maximum a minor role.
