Abstract
Herein, we utilized γ-Al2O3 as the fluorion scavenger to prepare anatase titania nanocrystallines at low temperatures (<100 °C). The prepared products were characterized by X-ray powder diffraction (XRD), thermogravimetric (TG) analysis, Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), and transmission electron microscope (TEM). The crystal growth of products was very sensitive to reaction temperatures and starting fluorion scavengers. When the reaction took place at 80 °C and 90 °C for 3 h, single-phase spindle-shaped anatase titania nanocrystallines were obtained. Furthermore, the formation mechanism of as-prepared titania nanocrystallines was investigated.
