Abstract
The pressure effect on the Curie temperature TC of Heusler alloys Ni2Mn1+xSn1−x (0 ≤ x ≤ 0.28) has been investigated by measuring the temperature dependence of initial permeability at various pressures up to 10 kbar. The pressure derivative of TC, dTC/dp, of Ni2MnSn is found to be +0.5 K/kbar. The values of dTC/dp for Ni2Mn1+xSn1−x (0 ≤ x ≤ 0.28) alloys decrease with increasing the concentration x. The pressure effect on TC for Ni2Mn1+xSn1−x (0 ≤ x ≤ 0.28) alloys is discussed qualitatively on the basis of the interatomic dependence of the exchange interactions.
