Abstract

Lead sulfide (PbS) nanocrystallites have been successfully synthesized using chemical bath deposition (CBD) method. The films were deposited by ion by ion mechanism on glass substrate, which were finally characterized for structural and optical properties. The average particle size calculated by XRD is found to be 40 nm. The optical band gap is found to be 2.0 ± 0.1 eV which is higher than the bulk. SEM micrographs show that spherical nanoparticles are formed.
