Abstract
BaxSr1−xFe0.8Co0.2O3−δ (x = 0, 0.5 and 1) oxides were synthesized by using citrate-EDTA complexation method. The effects of barium doping on the structures, magnetic properties and oxygen desorption were investigated. It is shown that the compounds exhibit perovskites type cubic structure with lattice parameter in the range (3.888-4.074) ± 0.004 Å. The system depicts hysteresis loop in the presence of magnetic field indicating its magnetic nature. Barium insertion is found to cause lattice expansion, lowering of the magnetization, increase in the coercivity and Curie temperature. Oxygen desorption profile suggests that barium insertion enhance the formation of oxygen vacancy. These findings are further explained in terms of crystal structure, tolerance factor, anisotropy, bonding, oxygen vacancies and oxidation state of element in the system.
