Abstract

The electron density distribution and local structure of the high temperature thermoelectric material Mg2Si have been studied and analyzed. Powder X-ray data of Mg2Si is analyzed in terms of local structure, thermal vibration parameters, 1D, 2D and 3 dimensional electron density distributions. The bonding between the atoms has been studied using maximum entropy method (MEM) and the bond-length distribution using pair distribution function (PDF).
