Abstract

Tellurium based alloys are very important parts of semiconductor materials. Especially IV–VI systems have been investigated and used very widely during last years. The directives about Lead removing from electronic products brought new challenges to material science. The knowledge of Pb–Te–Me semiconductor systems is essential for finding new materials which show similar properties but do not contain Lead.In the present paper the critical assessment of binary system Pb–Te has been done using literature information. Good agreement between experimental data reported in literature and calculated values has been found. The ionic liquid model has been adopted for the liquid phase, which allows to extend calculations upon multicomponent systems containing oxygen.
