Abstract
Phase equilibria in the Dy–Al–Sb ternary system in the whole concentration range at 500 °C have been studied mainly by means of X-ray powder diffraction (powder XRD), with the aid of scanning electron microscopy (SEM). The existence of nine binary compounds was confirmed. Binary compound Dy4Sb3 is not existent at 500 °C. It decomposes eutectoidally into Dy5Sb3 and DySb. No ternary compounds were found. The solubility of the third component in the binary compounds was found to be less than 1 at.%.
