Abstract
Polycrystalline Zn1−xFexO films were fabricated by the sol–gel method, and the morphology, structure and optical property were investigated. With the Fe content increasing, the blue-shift in optical band gap (OBG) happened from 3.30 eV to 3.334 eV. Photoluminescence (PL) measurement showed green (x = 0.000), green and orange (x = 0.030, 0.051) and blue emission (x = 0.072, 0.094) for the Zn1−xFexO films. The possible mechanisms of these emissions were studied in detail, and the regular change of PL in the visible area may be important for ZnO in the optical devices.
