Abstract
This letter reports that MgZnO nanostructures (MZNs) are synthesized by thermal oxidation of MgZn alloys. The structure and optical properties were characterized by X-ray diffraction patterns, field emission scanning electron microscopy and photoluminescence spectrum. The red shift from 500 nm to 560 nm is more pronounced with the increasing annealing temperature. The possible growth mechanism of the MZNs was discussed.
