Abstract

The crystallization kinetics of Zr41Ti14Cu12.5Ni10Be22.5 bulk metallic glasses in as-cast state and two pulsing current pretreatment states have been studied by both Kissinger equation and JMA equation. It has been found that the pulsing current pretreatment has apparent effects on the glass transition activation energy and structural stability of bulk metallic glasses, resulting in the decrement of free volume and decreased incubation time. After carefully comparing the crystallization process of as-cast state and pulsing current pretreatment states, no evidences of different crystallization product or phase transformation are found. Furthermore, the interior influences of high-density pulsing current on the glass transformation and crystallization behavior of bulk metallic glasses are discussed as well.
