Abstract
The exchange bias phenomenon has been observed in bulk polycrystalline Ni50Mn35In15 Heusler alloy. Such behavior might be attributed to the antiferromagnetic and ferromagnetic exchange interactions in this alloy at lower temperature. A further experimental study on magnetocaloric property of this alloy has also been explored. The magnetic entropy change, which associated with the first-order structural transition, achieves as high as 22.3 J/kg K at 309 K with an external field increase from 0 to 5 T (ΔH = 5 T). The calculated refrigerant capacity (RC) is about 93.7 J/kg for ΔH = 5 T near room temperature.
