Abstract

Chromium–tin–titanium alloys of selected compositions were prepared by melting pure elements in an arc furnace. Isothermal heat treatments at 900 and 1100 °C were performed to reach the equilibriums between phases. Phase identifications were made by metallographic observations and X-ray diffraction analysis. Composition determinations were carried out using the electron microprobe techniques. Based on the obtained results, the isothermal sections at 900 and 1100 °C were drawn on triangular Gibbs diagrams for the whole Cr–Sn–Ti system. No ternary compounds were detected.
