Abstract
The layered Li[Ni1/3Co1/3Mn1/3]0.96Ti0.04O1.96F0.04 cathode material was synthesized and the effect of Ti–F co-substitution on the structure and electrochemical performances of LiNi1/3Mn1/3Co1/3O2 was characterized and investigated by X-ray diffraction (XRD), charge–discharge experiments and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS). The results showed that the electrochemical performances of LiNi1/3Mn1/3Co1/3O2 have been improved dramatically by Ti–F co-substitution. The initial discharge capacity of Li[Ni1/3Co1/3Mn1/3]0.96Ti0.04O1.96F0.04 samples reached 169 mAh g−1 and the capacity retention rate is 96.1% up to 50 cycles.
