Abstract

A new molybdenum phosphate, (C2N2H10)6[Na2Mo12O31(PO4)(HPO4)2(H2PO4)5]·4H2O has been synthesized under hydrothermal conditions and structurally determined by single-crystal X-ray diffraction method. It has the following crystal data: triclinic space group P-1, a = 12.0117(4) Å, b = 14.5565(5) Å, c = 21.2805(8) Å, α = 80.6530(10), β = 82.6410(10), γ = 76.2610(10), V = 3550.8(2) Å3, Z = 2. The structure of the title compound may be considered to be two [Mo6O15(HPO4)(H2PO4)3]5− units bonded together with sodium atom, although several P–O groups are not protonated on account of coordination to a Na+ cation. The one-dimensional tunnels were formed in the solid state structure. The structure is stabilized by template-to-framework hydrogen bonding. The title compound was also characterized by IR spectroscopy and TG-DTA. Luminescent measurement of the title compound shows an emission band between 724 and 747 nm when excited with 491 nm UV light.
