Abstract
Calcium magnesium chlorosilicate (Ca8Mg(SiO4)4Cl2) doped with trivalent dysprosium ion (Dy3+) was synthesized by high-temperature solid-state reaction in air. The XRD pattern of the phosphor shows that the dope of Dy3+ makes its lattice parameters decreased. The experimental results indicate that the emission spectrum of the phosphor consists of two emission bands: blue band and yellow band, and the emission intensity of the former is stronger than that of the latter. Dy3+ concentration not only affects the emission intensity, but also influences color coordination and color temperature of the samples. And the preferentially selected site occupied by Dy3+ is six-coordinated Ca2+ site.
