Abstract
The phase diagram of the Nd–Ni–Sn ternary system was constructed at 770 K (more than 50 at.% Sn) and 870 K (0–50 at.% Sn) using X-ray and partially metallographic analyses. The interaction between the elements results the formation of 13 ternary intermetallic compounds. The existence of the substitutional solid solution NdNi5−xSnx (up to 10 at.% Sn) was observed.
