Abstract
MgO:Dy3+ and Li-doped MgO:Dy3+ nanocrystals have been synthesized via a facile combustion method. The prepared MgO samples were characterized by X-ray diffraction, transmission electron microscopy, UV diffuse reflectance and photoluminescence spectroscopy. The crystallinity of MgO nanocrystals becomes better after Li addition, resulting in the enhancement of luminescent intensity of the characteristic emission of Dy3+ ions. This material is promising for applications in display technologies.
