Abstract
The ternary intermetallic Ce16Ru8In37 was synthesized by arc-melting from elemental Ce, Ru, and In under an argon atmosphere. The crystal structure of Ce16Ru8In37 was determined from the single-crystal X-ray diffraction data: a = 4.7451(1) Å, b = 9.3518(2) Å, c = 32.6162(7) Å; space group Immm, Z = 1.The architecture of the crystal structure of Ce16Ru8In37 is based on CeIn3 units with cubic Cu3Au-type and can be presented as consisting of two different slabs: CeIn3-like slab of composition Ce4In14.5 and a slab of composition Ce4Ru4In4.
