Abstract
The influence of Sb addition on mechanical properties and damping capacity of Mg2Si/Mg-9Al composite materials were investigated. Due to modification of Sb, Mg2Si intermetallic compound exhibits refinement polygonal type, and the grain size of Mg matrix reduces. Such improved microstructure of the modified materials results in the large improvement in tensile properties and damping capacity.
