Abstract
By means of CALPHAD (CALculation of PHAse Diagram) technique, the phase diagram and thermodynamic data of the Co-Nd system were critically assessed. The Co-Nd system contains five solution phases (liquid, face-centered cubic, body-centered cubic, hexagonal close-packed, double hexagonal close-packed) modeled with the Redlich-Kister equation and 10 intermetallic compounds Co17Nd2, Co5Nd, Co19Nd5, Co7Nd2, Co3Nd, Co2Nd, Co3Nd2, Co3Nd4, Co2Nd5 and CoNd3, which are all treated as stoichiometric compounds. A set of self-consistent thermodynamic parameters of the Co-Nd system was obtained.
