Abstract
Commercial pure titanium was electrically charged with hydrogen. X-ray diffraction showed the formation of titanium hydride with f.c.c. (δ-phase) structure. SEM showed that the hydride layer was uniform with a thickness of about 10 μm. The mechanical properties of titanium hydride such as hardness, elastic modulus and yield stress were determined using nano-indentation technique.
