Abstract
Polycrystalline Sr2Fe1−xZnxMoO6 (0 ≤ x ≤ 0.2) compounds with ordered double perovskite structure were fabricated and their magnetic, and magnetoresistance properties were systematically investigated. The X-ray powder diffraction refinements show that the degree of cationic order decreases gradually with increasing Zn content. A great enhancement of low field magnetoresistance and saturated magnetoresistance curves near 1 T are achieved in Zn doped samples. Analysis of the magnetization curves indicates that the doped Zn2+ ions may easily occupy the abnormal Fe sites and destroy the antiferromagnetic Fe–O–Fe anti-site defects, and so the magnetoresistance under high field was strongly suppressed.
