Abstract

The crystal structure of intermetallic compounds in the T–T′–X (T = Ti, Zr, Hf; T′ = Au, Pt, Pd; X = Al, Ga) ternary systems at the equiatomic composition has been studied by means of X-ray powder diffraction: TiAuGa (Ni2In type, space group P63/mmc, a = 4.3848(3) Å, c = 5.8792(6) Å), TiPtGa (ZrBeSi type, space group P63/mmc, a = 4.3733(1) Å, c = 5.5226(2) Å), ZrAuGa (ScAuSi type, space group P6¯m2, a = 4.3442(1) Å, c = 6.6942(3) Å), HfAuGa (ScAuSi type, space group P6¯m2, a = 4.3238(1) Å, c = 6.6359(3) Å), ZrPtAl (HfRhSn type, space group P6¯2c, a = 7.1042(1) Å, c = 7.2145(2) Å), HfPtAl (HfRhSn type, space group P6¯2c, a = 7.0912(1) Å, c = 7.1127(2) Å), HfPtGa (HfRhSn type, space group P6¯2c, a = 7.1244(2) Å, c = 6.9891(2) Å) and HfPdGa (HfRhSn type, space group P6¯2c, a = 7.1543(3) Å, c = 6.8932(4) Å).
