Abstract

The La0.75 − xGdxCa0.25MnO3 manganites with 0.0 ≤ x ≤ 0.75 are characterized by magnetic, electrical resistivity and thermoelectric measurements. The isovalent Gd substitution causes that the metal–insulator transition is removed, whereas the negative magnetoresistance effect is weak. The electrical resistivity is described by the small polaron model.
