Abstract
Perovskite oxides BaCe1.1EuxO3−δ (x = 0, 0.05, 0.10, 0.15, 0.20) were prepared by solid state reactions. X-ray diffraction analysis showed the samples crystallized in a single perovskite phase. Raman spectra measurements indicated that all Eu3+ ions are doped onto the Ce-sites, the oxygen vacancy concentration would increase with increasing Eu content. The influence of the Eu content on the proton conductivity can be explained by the concentration of oxygen vacancy, the formation of defect associations and the change in the lattice distortion.
