Abstract
The transformation behavior, crystal structure and microstructural morphology of a Ti50Ni25Cu25 melt-spun ribbon annealed at different temperatures were studied. Annealing at higher temperatures promotes grain growth and leads to the formation of B11-TiCu precipitates. Twined B19 martensite plates were observed if the annealing temperature is 500 °C or higher. In most grains, only one pair of martensite variants exists. The transformation temperatures decrease with increase of B11-TiCu precipitation.
