Abstract
In this paper, the superplastic formability of the Zr41.2Ti13.8Cu12.5Ni10Be22.5 bulk metallic glass in the supercooled liquid region is described. Experimental results show that the superplastic deformation of the metallic glass is mainly controlled by the processing parameters such as forming temperature, Te, applied stress, Pe, and time of application, te. The thermal stabilities of the deformed specimens were investigated by means of differential scanning calorimetry (DSC). The higher the processing parameter, the more serious is the crystallization of the deformed specimens. A gear-like micropart with a single amorphous phase was successfully fabricated by using the following parameters: Te = 673 K, te = 200 s and Pe = 254 MPa.
