Abstract
The Nb–Sb system was studied using X-ray diffraction analysis. The existence of the compounds Nb3Sb (Cr3Si structure type), Nb5Sb4 (Ti5Te4 structure type) and NbSb2 (OsGe2 structure type) has been confirmed. The compounds Nb3Sb2, NbSb and Nb5Sb4, present on the phase diagram of the Nb–Sb system, have not been detected. The compound Nb5Sb4 has Ti5Te4 structure type (space group I4/m, a = 10.3184(4) Å, c = 3.5581(2) Å, R(F) = 0.038, RW = 0.075), which was confirmed by single-crystal measurement.
