Abstract
Manganese doped Zinc Sulphide (ZnS:Mn) was prepared by wet chemical route and was surface modified with amino acid L-Lyseine. X-ray diffraction pattern shows the occurrence of hexagonal to cubic structure when the concentration of L-Lyseine is reduced to one-third of the initial concentration. The electron scanning micrographs reveal the formation of cavity shaped morphology. The presence of L-Lyseine in the synthesized Zns:Mn is confirmed by Fourier Transform Infrared spectrum. Optical properties of the aminoacid modified ZnS:Mn were studied by UV /Visible and Photoluminescence spectroscopic studies. The Transmission Electron Microscope images shows the formation of self assembled nanostructures of ZnS:Mn nanoparticles.
