Abstract
In the NaAlO2-Na2SiO3 compound system, the ceramic coatings were prepared on magnesium alloy by microarc oxidation. The morphology, phase composition, and thermal shock resistance of the ceramic coatings were studied by scanning electron microscope, X-ray diffraction and thermal shock tests, respectively. The results showed that the ceramic coating contains MgO, MgAl2O4, as well as a little amount of Mg2SiO4. The thickness of the ceramic coatings increases with the current density increasing, when the current density is 12 A·dmâ2, the thermal shock resistance of the produced ceramic coating is the best. The hardness of the ceramic coating is up to 10 GPa or so.
