Abstract
•Facile synthesis of CsCuBr3 in HBr solvent at room temperature is reported.•The perovskite material was characterised by various techniques.•The optical properties of the compound were studied.•The material was used as a sensor to detect the water contamination in DMF.
We report the facile synthesis of cesium copper bromide (CsCuBr3) in HBr solvent at room temperature. The perovskite material was successfully used as a sensor to detect the water contamination in dimethylformamide (DMF).
