Abstract

•As-obtained ordered mesoporous CaO-ZrO2 composite exhibited high thermal stability.•The prepared method of ordered CaO-ZrO2 oxide is facile without humidity condition.•Ordered CaO-ZrO2 structure was obtained with a right amount of Ca doping.

Ordered mesoporous CaO-ZrO2 solid solutions have been fabricated by a simple evaporation induced selfassembly procedure in the presence of zirconium nitrate, calcium nitrate and Pluronic P123 without strict humidity condition. The structural and morphological characterization showed that ordered mesoporous structure was obtained when the Ca loading was below 25%. The ordered mesostructure material has large surface area, pore volumes, and narrow pore size distributions. The introduction of Ca2+ to the ZrO2 and the structure of ordered mesoporous effectively improve the CaO-ZrO2 thermal stability up to 600 °C.
