Abstract
•Undoped and Bi3+/Fe3+ single as well as codoped SrTiO3 synthesized sonochemically.•Spherical nanoparticles were obtained.•Room temperature ferromagnetism observed in Bi3+/Fe3+ doped SrTiO3.•Bi3+/Fe3+ doped SrTiO3 also exhibits ferroelectric nature at room temperature.
Bi3+/Fe3+ single as well as codoped SrTiO3 nanoparticles have been synthesized using a facile sonochemical method. Magnetic and ferroelectric properties of the samples have been studied and it has been observed that Bi3+/Fe3+ codoped samples exhibit weak room temperature ferromagnetism as well as ferroelectric behavior.
