Abstract
A new type of lithium-ion battery consisting of LiNi0.80Co0.15Al0.05O2 cathodes and lithium pre-doping hard carbon anodes is reported. The drawback of the high irreversible capacity loss of negative electrode, occurring at the first charge/discharge process, can be reduced by the lithium pre-doping approach of the anode. As a consequence, the delivered energy of hard carbon/LiNi0.80Co0.15Al0.05O2 battery can be significantly improved.
