Hierarchical porous microspheres have been prepared by emulsion-solvent evaporation with natural carnauba wax as raw material in the presence of surfactant. Appropriate reaction conditions allow the formation of “brain-like” porous microspheres with honeycomb-like inner porous structure. The as-prepared porous microspheres will be used in the potential applications, and could also be used as a promising template for synthesizing other function materials with desired porous structure.
